   Synopsis

   Ali G is the leader of Da West Staines Massiv, a fictional gang composed

   of a group of wannabe gangsters from Staines (a small, affluent,

   suburban town to the west of London); their chief rivals are Da East

   Staines Massiv. Ali and Da West Staines Massiv are heartbroken to learn

   that their beloved local leisure centre (where they like to chill out and

   also where Ali teaches his "Keep it Real" classes) will be destroyed by the

   local council. Ali and his pals decide to protest this injustice. After he

   goes on a hunger strike and is spotted chained to some railings by the

   nefarious Deputy Prime Minister David Carlton, he is drawn into a world of seedy political intrigue, as the Deputy Prime Minister tries to use Ali as a tool to destroy the Prime Minister's credibility.

   Rhona's Role

   Kate Hedges is Prime Minister David Carlton's secretary. She offers to sleep with

   Ali G as a bribe.

The character of Kate Hedges is said to be a reference to Baron Cohen's high school teacher of the same name.

Rhona became involved in this project after contacting the director and requesting a role.

Rhona became a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen after her brother Jason showed her a tape of him during Christmas of 2000.

“I was alarmed at his approach to comedy [and] by his bravery,” she says. “I can’t remember what I’d just done, but it definitely wasn’t light. I just wanted to be in the same environment as him and see him work and I thought it would be really great fun.”
